So now you have had awesome headshots done, you have picked a logo design that you love and your business is rolling along. This is FANTASTIC!
Sometimes, when things are rolling along smoothly, it’s easy to become complacent. One of the areas I see that the most is in the continued use of branding materials. Do you remember how we talked about the importance of your logo and how it represents you and your business? It is important to keep this in mind at all time when marketing your business from here on out.
The best examples of this are big named businesses. Some simple and quick ones are Nike, and the Nike “swoosh”, Under Armour, and their “UA” icon, or any of the car brands that you see every day. Each of these brands are easily identifiable by their logo and even simply the icon that represents their brand. Included in that branding that you KNOW as soon as you see it, is the look and feel that you have come to associate with their product. And while your business may not be as large as these, they do set a great example of consistent visual marketing!
Once you have your branding materials, it is very important to continue to utilize these materials to establish your business. Remember that the more people see your logo, your colors, your patterns, they will connect it to your business brand. Eventually you will be known by the association of these things that are uniquely you and it is SO important to be consistent with this endeavor.
When posting on social media, creating print ads, or any other type of marketing, be sure to be faithful to your branding guidelines. Use the same fonts and colors that are in your color palette. Use photography that is representative of your brand. Include your logo. And always create material that reflect your unique branding to continue the visual continuity.
People are visual creatures and will quickly associate your business with your branding. And, if the branding is not consistent, it creates a disconnect that could effect your business. THAT is not what you have been working so hard for! Make a commitment to your business in the New Year to be faithful to your brand!
