Writing blog posts for your business might seem like a daunting task. Maybe you don't know what to write about, or perhaps you feel like your posts won't shine among your competitors. Here are four tips for making your blog posts stand out in a crowd!
Include the Blog Title in the First Paragraph
If you currently blog, you may use an SEO plug in on your website to help ensure your blog posts will show up in searches. One of the first things these plug ins suggests is to make sure your title (and/or key phrase) shows up in the first paragraph of the blog text. When writing your blogs, you should keep this in mind.
Create Branded Graphics
A picture is worth a thousand words and it's definitely true for blogging. Whether you share your post on Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest, you will want to have a photo or branded graphic to include with the post, so it get's the most attention. Remember to stay true to your brand guidelines with your blog graphics. Pay special attention to your font use, colors and photo quality too.
Use Headings to Break Up the Text
Blog posts are more readable if you break up the text with headings. A reader might lost interest while reading one long paragraph of text. If you break up the text with larger headings it will be more visually pleasing. Also, the headings will make you organize your thoughts in a clear and concise manner.
Share Your Knowledge and Personality
I remember when I first started writing blog posts, I thought that I had nothing to share -- other than some pretty pictures from weddings. It took me a long time to share real knowledge with others, because I was afraid of their reaction. I thought that readers wouldn't want my advice or think that I wasn't an expert in my field. The best blog posts are the ones that give the reader a real piece of knowledge that they can use in the future...and let them connect with you, the writer. Don't be afraid to share a piece of you.
